In loving memory of Opanyin Emma Hammond

With heavy hearts, we pay tribute to Opanyin Emma Hammond, a cherished mother, mentor, and pillar of the Madina Circuit MGF. Opanyin Emma was more than a leader to us in the Circuit Girls’ Fellowship; she was a source of encouragement, joy, and unwavering support. She took great pride in the growth and discipline of the girls, always beaming with happiness whenever we successfully completed our ribbon tests. The joy with which she watched us wear our colours on our sashes and present them to the church will forever remain etched in our memories. Her commitment to nurturing young girls in faith, character, and service was evident in all she did. In recognition of her dedication and experience, Opanyin Emma served as one of the examiners for our 3rd Biennial Conference in August 2025, a role she carried out with diligence, fairness, and genuine concern for the spiritual and personal development of the girls. Affectionately called “Aunty Emma,” she touched many lives with her warmth, humility, and motherly love. Her presence brought reassurance, and her words inspired confidence and perseverance. Though she is no longer with us physically, her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped and the values she instilled in us. Op Emma, you will be dearly missed, but your impact will never be forgotten. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace. 🕊️   MGF – LIVING PURE FOR CHRIST Methodist Girls’ Fellowship, Madina Circuit

As they say, nobody knows when death will knock on their door but we never expected it would be so soon, Auntie Emma.   One unique thing I noticed about you during your working life was that, you were very committed to your work and always wanted things to be done the right way. You were affable and related well with colleagues. We wish you had lived longer, but God knows best. I’m sure He needs you for a higher service. May your soul rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened that Aunty Emma is no more. My heartfelt condolences to the family and the health information (HI) fraternity. Aunty Emma was one respected colleague among the HI fraternity who served with distinction, retiring just a year ago after many years of dedicated service in the Ghana Health Service. She was hardworking, dependable, and deeply committed to her duties. Her contribution as one of the founders of the Ghana Health Information Management Association (GHIMA) stands as a lasting legacy that will continue to shape and strengthen our profession. May her soul rest in perfect peace

News of your passing came unexpected. This is really an irreparable loss but God knows best. Yours was a life well lived because you lived for your Maker. In the end it is not the years in the life but rather the life in the years. May you rest in the bossom of the Lord and I pray that the Lord will preserve the family you have left behind.  Safe in the arms of Jesus and safe on His gentle breast.
